Your family is unique

Supporting children to grow into happy, confident, and secure individuals is one of the most meaningful, yet often most challenging parts of being a parent. Life can bring a huge range of experiences in families that can  a big range of responses in children.

Your child is unique

Your child’s journey through life is unique too, shaped by their experiences. When difficulties feel too big to handle alone, therapy offers a space for children to explore their feelings.

My primary focus is on celebrating each child's strengths, on their best qualities and what makes them special and valued.  This builds their resilience, boosts their self esteem and connects them to what make them wonderfully unique .

Your situation is unique

Perhaps you've noticed changes in your child’s mood, behaviour, or confidence? Maybe they have experienced a big change or a trauma.  Maybe they are just finding day to day life really tough right now. Every situation is unique too and so my work with each family is individual too.

Maybe you simply want to offer them the best possible help and don’t know where to turn? Being concerned about a child's emotional wellbeing differs for each family for a huge variety of reasons.

You are not alone

Raising children is for many people one of the biggest challenges they will face. It can be all consuming and at times indescribable to others.

My commitment to every child I work with is to always respect and to never judge how or why their unique story has brought them to therapy, regardless of circumstances.

Your first steps towards help

You’ve already taken that first important first step by looking for professional help. Choosing a Play and Creative Arts Therapist ensures you have a highly skilled clinician that has trained specifically in working with children and adolescents using latest theory and research.

How I work doesn't just aim to help your child! I also work closely alongside parents and teachers sharing knowledge, links, videos, skills and fact sheets to help achieve best possible outcomes. Therapy can also start for those who may be pre, during or post diagnosis for any condition.

Your child's therapy journey

Progress in play therapy is carefully monitored and shared with parents while respecting the child’s privacy and therapeutic space.

Progress and change is tracked through:

1. Observation and session notes: Documenting themes, emotional expression, and interactions over time.

2. Goal reviews: Revisiting the initial objectives to see what changes have occurred.                                                                             â€‹

3. Parent and teacher feedback, regular check-ins to discuss insights, concerns, and noticed improvements at home or school.

4. Child’s self-expression: Observing changes in how they play, communicate, or manage emotions.

It is important to remember that just like any form of therapy, progress is not always measurable as linear, especially for younger children.

Small shifts such as increased openness, improved regulation, or positive play patterns, often signal meaningful growth.

Every small step in therapy can help a child feel more balanced, more understood, and more connected to the world around them.

My therapists journey.

My enduring commitment to achieve positive outcomes for children evolved whilst running my own childcare business in S/W London for 12 years. In that time, I received three ‘Good’ gradings from Ofsted and two 'Outstanding' grades for "Personal, Social and Emotional Development" reflecting the emphasis given to providing consistent commitment to promoting positive mental health at the highest standard.

I maintain my own mental wellbeing by listening to music inspires me, painting and cooking ground me and a love of nature and gardening strengthens and uplifts me.

I advocate for outdoor play and mindful practices to encourage children to connect with their environment to benefit their overall well-being. I see on a daily basis the huge benefits this can bring to young people.

In addition to my years of experience working with children, my training and qualifications, I also have 15 years experience as a mother and all the joys and hurdles that can bring.

From Toddler to Teenager

Knowing the importance of how to adapt therapeutically to every child's specific needs is why I specialise in working with children aged 4-12 only. This crucial stage of development is a time of significant change neurologically and cognitively throughout primary school as a child grows from a toddler to a teenager.

By providing tailored age appropriate interventions, I strive to ensure every child I work with feels engaged in the process, and most importantly deeply understood on their own personal level, as they navigate their unique path.

My focus remains on ensuring every child I treat continues to thrive once their therapeutic journey ends.
